New Career Path 2010

I have been thinking of changing a new role and environment for quite sometimes. Being almost 3 years in a same company, I felt I have reached a stagnant stage. Work are repetitive and became more and more tedious. Anyhow, I am joining a new company now and I will be based in JB. Many people wonder why I decided to move back to Johore after staying KL for quite numbers of years. Well, I don't want to be apart from my loved one, family, him and friends. I did hesitate when I went for the interviews. Should I leave everything behind and just go back ? Will I get used to the new city? Johore won't be as happening as KL. Yet, the period waiting for the LOA was long enough, I thought I was not selected until the day I signed on it, and now I am now officially onboard, :) !

Today is my fourth day in the new company, I will undergo a 2 weeks training in KL. Well, I can foresee myself be extremely busy. This role requires me to travel to different secondary schools for either education fair, seminar talk or even run a education fair to the public.

Maybe I should tell how the training goes start from day 1. On Day 1, C.T introduced me to all the GMO members. The team is a newly formed department, and some of then joined since last year. I was brought around to different levels to be introduced to some key persons that I will liase with in future. Apparently, I can't recognize all of them, but I can remember all of the GMO members. I was given a stack of brochures to read, so Day 1 is just self-reading day. There goes my day 1.

Day 2, continue reading. I was lucky enough to able to join their CNY Lou Sang. There was Lion Dance and Lou Sang session. This will be my fifth lou sang of this year, I trully hope my new career will bring me more return in terms of exposure, money and friends. (network).

Day 3, I will have to follow 2 colleagues to one of the SMK school in Kuchai Lama for a 2 days education fair. I drove there as the morning traffic was unfriendly and I lost in the area. Not going to elaborate on that part. Finally, I reached the school. The open air hall was full with representatives from different colleges. My task was to distribute brochures to students and try to answer their queries. But most of the time I just observed how my colleagues approach and explain the detail to the students. This is more easier for me to pick up the skills by being hands- on on the role instead of reading the kit that I was asked to read. I learnt alot and my colleagues are willing teach me, glad to know them. The fair is until 2pm, when I reached office, I was assigned a new laptop ! And is a TP, yeah! Is a happy day for me, I can online now on.

Day 4, meaning today, we went to the education fair for counselling again. As a promoter, one will have to give public speech to the students too. Today is the STPM results release day, so the talk is targeted STPM students. My colleague prepared a talk for business program, it is short but he conducted in a humour way. I should quickly pick up skills for future use.There goes my day 4.

I was really exhausted these days for woke up early in the morning and return home late due to the traffic, how frust ! Anyway, I had a great time working with all these peoples. I will have a full day traning this saturday, better be prepared before I go. Welcome challenges , night!
